1. Change your regimen

No matter how minty and refreshing your body sorbet and gels smell, they don’t work during winter. You need to replace your lightweight moisturizers with potent lotions that contain sea butter, olive oil, almond oil and such. Body oils are a great option too, as they seep into skin better and keep your skin hydrated for longer.

2. Take care of hands

While we take extra care of our feet during winter, hands should not be ignored either. The skin on your hands is thinner and has fewer oil glands which makes it prone to dryness in cold weather. Keep a hand cream in your handbag at all times and use it through the day. Also, use cotton gloves when outdoors to avoid irritation.

3. Drink plenty water

To have a healthy and hydrated skin, you need to be hydrated from within. For those with super dry skin, water helps in banishing dehydration. However, don’t rely solely on water to cure dry skin.

4. Foot care is a must

Feet tend to dry up and crack during winter. Look for a foot cream that contains petroleum jelly or glycerin. Exfoliate your feet regularly to allow the moisturiser to seep in better. Apply foot cream before bed and cover your feet in socks, and you will be sure to wake up to soft and pretty feet.

5. Avoid chemical-laden products

If your facial skin is super dry and feels tight and uncomfortable, make sure to avoid harsh peels, masks and alcohol-based toners. These can strip the natural oils from your skin leaving it itchy and scaly. Use cleansing milk or soap-free gels to cleanse, and use rose water or thermal water instead of toners. opt for hydrating masks instead of clay-based masks as they tend to draw moisture out.
