Malaysia has joined other nations in offering Indian visitors visa-free entry into the country from this month. Malaysia has joined other nations in offering Indian visitors visa-free entry into the country from this month.
This month onwards, Malaysia welcomes Indian citizens into the country without visas. From December 1, travelers from India, whether they are visiting for leisure or business, may enter Malaysia without the requirement of a visa to deter them.
The tourism ministry has announced that this visa-free entry scheme will be in place until December 2024. It hopes that this incentive will lead to an increase of 30% to 45% in inbound tourism from India annually.
Considered to be an affordable and strategic destination for both personal and business travel, Indians have always counted Malaysia as one of their favorite destinations. In 2019, 7,35,309 visitors from India were recorded in Malaysia.
What Does This New Development Mean For You?
Malaysia declaring itself a visa-free destination for Indians means that you can simply book flight tickets when you find them, pack your bags, and fly into the country. You don’t need to fill in any documentation.
All you need to have is a passport valid for six months, proof of confirmed return tickets, and proof of funds and hotel accommodation.
Indian visitors to Malaysia can stay for 30 days on each visit, and make as many entries as they would like.
Currently, other countries offering Indian visitors visa-free entry include Thailand, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Bhutan, Nepal, Oman, Qatar, Fiji, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, and Macao, as well as many others.
